Sunrise Key and Sunrise Intracoastal are two distinct neighborhoods located directly across the water from one another. Commonly referred to as the Sunrise neighborhood of Fort Lauderdale, these communities are not to be confused with the city of Sunrise, which is a suburb in Broward County about 25 minutes west.
The island of Sunrise Key is accessible via a single and discreet, gated road which is aptly named Sunrise Key Blvd. The island is located at the very eastern edge of Victoria Park, south of Sunrise Blvd and north of the Las Olas Isles. Sunrise Key is known to have all waterfront homes and some of the deepest water in all of Fort Lauderdale. Dock sizes vary and from above, the island resembles a key (hence the name) .. Due to the 5 finger isles that are adjacent to the main road. Sunrise Key consists of about 75 single family homes in the multi million dollar price range, many of which have pools and nicely sized lots.
The Sunrise Intracoastal community is a quiet neighborhood of about 200 homes. It’s located just north of (and across the Middle River from Sunrise Key). It’s a peninsula neighborhood with Intracoastal Waterway frontage to the east and the Middle River to the west and south. Here, you’ll find a combination of both waterfront and dry lot properties. Sunrise Intracoastal homes enjoy quick walking distance to the Galleria Mall and the associated restaurants, located immediately north of the neighborhood.
If you enjoy boating or watersports or seek a home with ocean access dockage, both Sunrise Key and Sunrise Intracoastal are perfect for just that. Located just minutes from Downtown Fort Lauderdale, homes in these communities offer the best of all worlds.
