Newly Renovated Jimmy Evert Tennis Center Reopens in Fort Lauderdale

The City of Fort Lauderdale has officially reopened the newly renovated Jimmy Evert Tennis Center, long known as the “Home of Champions” and the training ground of tennis legend Chris Evert.

Located at 701 NE 12th Avenue in Holiday Park, the upgraded facility brings a fresh wave of excitement to one of the city’s most beloved athletic landmarks.

After extensive improvements, players will now enjoy 20 refurbished clay courts featuring a modern sub-surface irrigation system, enhanced LED lighting, a 700-seat stadium court, 13 new shade structures, 40 benches, chilled drinking fountains, renovated restrooms, new fencing, and refreshed landscaping. Expanded pathways and a full repaint give the center a clean, modern look, while an updated irrigation system and online reservation platform make the overall experience smoother than ever. Clinics and programs have also been expanded, offering options for players 4+ and all skill levels.

The Jimmy Evert Tennis Center is now open Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 9 PM, and weekends from 7:30 AM to 6 PM, creating plenty of opportunity for early-morning racquet work or evening matches under the new lighting.

Fort Lauderdale residents and tennis fans can look forward to two major events: the Orange Bowl International Tennis Championships from December 5–14, and the Grand Reopening & Dedication Celebration featuring special guest Chris Evert on December 8 at 10 a.m.
